Excel - COLUMN Function Problem - Expert Solution

Question description:
This user has given permission to use the problem statement for this blog.

I have created an action item task list. Column C has drop down lists which say complete, pending, and in progress with corresponding color coding. The column next to it is the due date and I would like to get that column to change color as you change the progress status on the left simultaneously.

So here you go
[Uploaded an Excel file]
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 02:47
Please open the file and check, if it solves your problem
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 02:48
I just changed the conditional formatting criteria and range to Column C and D. So if Column C contains the listed values i.e. Complete, Pending, past due, the color coding will apply to both the columns
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 02:48
Please use the same and advise, if there is still any challenge with the problem or solution
User 09/10/2018 - 02:48
But column d does not contain the same information
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 02:49
It is using the Column C information to change the color
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 02:49
So once you click the conditional formatting, you edit the rule. You will see the criteria what I used
User 09/10/2018 - 02:50
