Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 01:58
Okay, could you please make a small data example of your task on the sheet near the chat?
User 29/09/2018 - 01:58
but if you need, i can recreate it on this one...its simple.
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 01:59
Okay, so the result should be in column C
User 29/09/2018 - 01:59
yes,
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 01:59
Do you want to have a sum of 80% of hours and 55% of travel?
User 29/09/2018 - 01:59
but i need the hours to be muliplied by 85 and the travel to be multiplied by .55 andTHAT total need to be in the 3rd column
User 29/09/2018 - 02:00
no, 85 and .55 are rates
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:00
Okay, great, I got your task
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:00
Will do it in a minute and explain that to you
User 29/09/2018 - 02:00
thank you so much
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:00
Your result is ready at C2
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:00
The formula which we used is:
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:00
=A2*85+B2*0.55
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:01
So just a straight solution for the problem
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:01
Is this the result which you were looking for?
User 29/09/2018 - 02:01

Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:02
ExcelChat can help to save a lot of time
User 29/09/2018 - 02:02
I always think excel you have to have some weird formula
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:02
In most cases yes, but it also supports basic operators
User 29/09/2018 - 02:02
let me plug it in and see if it works on my end.
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:02
Sure, please check it
User 29/09/2018 - 02:03
Its not working
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:04
Could you share a screenshot or file where you have this problem?
User 29/09/2018 - 02:04
im getting 23,854.60 in the first cell and all the other ones have #VALUE
User 29/09/2018 - 02:04
sure, give me a sec
User 29/09/2018 - 02:06
[Uploaded an Excel file]
User 29/09/2018 - 02:06
...can you see it? lol
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:07
Yes, can you also show the formula in G10?
User 29/09/2018 - 02:07
no
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:07
Once you entered the formula in G9, you can copy it down and it will work fine for the rest of the cells
User 29/09/2018 - 02:08
and the total is wrong
User 29/09/2018 - 02:08
..i wish it was right lol...
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:08
Oh, actually the problem is that you didn't change the columns Letter
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:08
Please change it to the following formula:
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:09
=E9*85+F9*0.55
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:09
Because A2 and B2 were the cells that we used in our example
User 29/09/2018 - 02:09
OH lmao
User 29/09/2018 - 02:09
sorry
User 29/09/2018 - 02:09
duh
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:09
So in your actual file you have to reference the real cells of hours and travel
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:09
No problems, Excel may confuse at first
Excelchat Expert 29/09/2018 - 02:10
