Hi you there
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:38
based on you description
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:39
you have data in column A and based on its values you want to move it to column a,b,c and so on
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:39
is that right?
User 29/08/2018 - 03:39
Hi, I have data that falls into ranges. they want each range to be A,B,C, D, etc. if the number fall in the first range, say a number between 1 and 5, put that in a column named A,
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:40
1-5 or 1-9 we need to define the range 1st clearly
User 29/08/2018 - 03:40
second range B, third C, etc
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:41
will the range be 1-5,6-10 or 1-10,11-20
User 29/08/2018 - 03:42
A= 1 - 5
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:42
ok got it give me few min
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:42
i'll assume you have your data in Sheet 1 column A then will more them to corresponding column sin sheet 2
User 29/08/2018 - 03:42
A = 1 - 5, B = 6-10, C=11 - 15, D = 16 - 20
User 29/08/2018 - 03:44
or to over to other columns on the page
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:45
it would be the same formula you can use it where ever you want the new sheet would look nices
User 29/08/2018 - 03:45
ok, thanks
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:45

check sheet 2
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:52
please do check and let me know
User 29/08/2018 - 03:52
how do I get to sheet 2 isn't there usually a tab at bottom
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:53
the formula is dynamic if you change any values in A it will automatically adjust and at any time you can change the range by changing the values in row 1 and row 2 the lower and upper limit
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:53
yes there is
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:53
did you download the file i sent
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:53
[Uploaded an Excel file]
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:54
were you able to see sheet 2
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:55
you there
User 29/08/2018 - 03:55
not sure I understand it - can you explain
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:56
can you see sheet 2?
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:57
now in Row 1 i.e a1 it says 1 a2 =5
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:57
so basically column A is C-1(category 1) will fetch all numbers from sheet 1 column A that is in between 1-5
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:58
next b1=6b2=10 c-2 column B will have all number between 6-10
User 29/08/2018 - 03:58
I see the ranges now up top in first two rows. is your data on sheet one and I am just seeing results
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:58
check sheet 1 column A to see all the data
Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:58

Excelchat Expert 29/08/2018 - 03:59
