This user has given permission to use the problem statement for this blog.

I have a dropdown list and I want if one of the selections is "--select--" then I want a different cell to say "error" as long as there isn't an amount in the cell I want to say "error"

I need a formula where cell D7 (where I have a dropdown list) says --select-- then I want F7 to say "error" but I also want If the cell in D7 doesn't ="--select--" then I want F7 blank but also be able to add data into it

I added comments on F columns..

If employee select F column, employee will see comment instruction, and if he/she still trying to enter amount without selecting category first, he/she will receive warning message..
