Excel - COLUMN Function Problem - Expert Solution

Question description:
This user has given permission to use the problem statement for this blog.

Hi. I'm trying to track my time at work. I have 5 column ranges with a few different text items (administration, management, personal, etc). In separate cells I'd like to add all the times each text item appears and then add them up. To clarify, I want to check ranges C5:C37, F5:F37, I5:I37, L5:L37, O5:O37 for text "administration" and add them all up in 1 cell.

Just to make sure, you want the count of how many times "Administration" are there in those ranges, right?
User 13/08/2018 - 06:43
Yes, it should count up "administration" and give me the total in a cell.
Excelchat Expert 13/08/2018 - 06:44
