creating a job tract sheet and needing help linking work books
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:21
Do you have sample data that we can work with?
User 07/08/2018 - 12:22
I want to continue to change data on a cover sheet and have it autofill but start a new line on a summary page when the info is changed instead of excel changing the info because the cells are linked
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:26
Is is possible you can illustrate what you mean?
User 07/08/2018 - 12:28
I want to change the info on the cover page so i can enter job 2 info but keep it linked to the same cells without changing the info for job 1
User 07/08/2018 - 12:29
I dont want to make 30 cover pages for the jobs so i can have it transfer the correct info without changing the previous information
User 07/08/2018 - 12:31
it changes both if i change the info on the first sheet i want it to just change the second line if i change the info not change the info for the previous line
User 07/08/2018 - 12:32
is it possible to auto fill in this manner?
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:32
That is not possible with with the Excel functions.
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:32
They do not have that capacity.
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:32
But a VBA script can do.
User 07/08/2018 - 12:34
how would i add vba script?
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:34
Once you have the script, you simply press ALT + F11
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:35
An editor will be open.
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:35
Then a script will be added and saved.
User 07/08/2018 - 12:40
This is a link to the job tract sheet can you show me how to use the script
[Uploaded an Excel file]
Excelchat Expert 07/08/2018 - 12:50
I am processing the script, it takes long since we are writing it from scratch.
User 07/08/2018 - 12:55
