Excelchat Expert

Okay, this happens for a few reasons.
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:18
One of the most common reasons are the file being created in an earlier version of Excel

There is no actual fix for the version issues.
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:19
It's best to reproduce the files in 2016 if possible.

Yes I got it opened, this file is copied and pasted to the next month file then new numbers added/changed
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:26
I suggest you reproduce it from scratch. That is the best option.
User
20/07/2018 - 08:26
Right now the file is read only repaired so I will have to save it again and see if I can open it again
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:26
Alright.
User
20/07/2018 - 08:26
I can't reproduce this file again
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:27
Okay.
User
20/07/2018 - 08:28
I can 't save it due to read only access so that doesn't help
User
20/07/2018 - 08:28

Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:28
Okay.
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:29
And does it open?
User
20/07/2018 - 08:29
It opened back up
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:30
Well, did you have a window pop up saying about it was saved in a previous version?
User
20/07/2018 - 08:31
no it don't do a pop up
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:32
Well, I guess than the issues will remain. If the file doesn't have a lot of formulas, you might try to copy the content to a new file created in Excel 2016.
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:32
These compatibility issues are there for a long time. No fixes for these.
User
20/07/2018 - 08:33
This is a 8 tab spreadsheet. with tons of formulas for a borrowing base. Only solution is get rid of Office 2016
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:34
That is another option. If you have no problems downgrading, that's a great option.
User
20/07/2018 - 08:35
I will see if it holds the file. Normally I can get in and do things today but then tomorrow it opens blank,
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:36
As I said, these compatibility issues remain every time a new version is released.
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:36
It's best to reproduce, but if you are okay with the previous version. Then do downgrade.
User
20/07/2018 - 08:37
Guess new version are worth much it they can't update old spreadsheet. Not vary many people have office 16 lol
Excelchat Expert
20/07/2018 - 08:38
Yes.
