You want to sum all cells from column C to column K for each line?
User

yes and then input numbers to successive lines and get a total automatically in line L

Excelchat Expert

Excelchat Expert

I want the number on L1 to be automatically added to the numbers I put into c thru k so the total is shown on L2 automatically as I input numbers on lines c3,4,5,6,etc.

no c1 has the number 2, d has no number, e has number 3, e has no number, f has number 5 then l would have an answer of 10
Excelchat Expert

c2 has a number of 6 -What would L have and what is the formula to get the new sum automatically into L when I input the number to c2.I want to continue this process for all successive lines.

on C2 you type 6, and the answer of L2 is the sum of C2 to K2 plus L1?
User
03/05/2018 - 01:13
yes and continue that same process for as many lines as I need
Excelchat Expert

I used a IF function to check if column C of that line has value. If it has value, then L is sumed, otherwise, L3 is blank

Is this formula OK? Or it was not what you need?
User
03/05/2018 - 01:17
yes that is what I want to do Please give me the formula so I can copy it down
Excelchat Expert
03/05/2018 - 01:17
=if(C2<>"",SUM(C2:K2)+L1,"")
Excelchat Expert
03/05/2018 - 01:17
you copy this formula on cell L2
Excelchat Expert
03/05/2018 - 01:18
and then you can paste to the lines above L2
