I have a spreadsheet with the first column being times, and the following columns being employee names with the number of patients they checked in at each time. If possible, I would like the times to be displayed in half hour intervals rather than every minute. can i do this?

Hello, I understand that you want to see half hourly interval in your data, right?
User
27/04/2018 - 07:39
correct!

Are you able to upload your file so I can analyze it and let you know if it is possible?
User

I cannot, its a shared document with internal info i cannot share
Excelchat Expert

Can you type a sample data using the document preview to the right?
User
27/04/2018 - 07:41
will do
Excelchat Expert
27/04/2018 - 07:42
So the data will be for a single day?
User
27/04/2018 - 07:43
there are several days. and the only times that show are times when at least 1 staff checked somebody in
User
27/04/2018 - 07:43
if there is a time, ex 1:07, where no one checked in, it is not currently showing
Excelchat Expert

Okay, and this must be done in a pivot table?
User
27/04/2018 - 07:44
correct
Excelchat Expert
27/04/2018 - 07:44
The reason I asked is because the data you just typed isn't exactly pivot friendly.
Excelchat Expert
27/04/2018 - 07:44
It needs to be reformatted entirely.
Excelchat Expert

And then we still have the problem of Pivot table groups only working by the hour and not half hourly.
User
27/04/2018 - 07:45
oh ok, that wont be possible. its a table my supervisor created that she asked me to edit. I will have to find a different way to organize it
User
27/04/2018 - 07:45
i appreciate the help! thank you anways!
Excelchat Expert

If a Pivot table isn't required and it can be done using formulas then there are alternatives.
Excelchat Expert
27/04/2018 - 07:46
Otherwise, the data formatting you showed won't work well with Pivot table.
User
27/04/2018 - 07:47
how would you go about organizing it by hour?
Excelchat Expert
27/04/2018 - 07:47
Excel can do that automatically.
Excelchat Expert

Let me upload a file I quickly created.
