Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:03
It is cool. Welcome.
Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:04
its fine
User 02/02/2018 - 06:06
So what I'm trying to do is make a sum in C4
User 02/02/2018 - 06:06
That is something like IF the cells in Sheet 2 range A4 : A8 say Sam Smith
User 02/02/2018 - 06:06
Add the numbers on the equivalent row between B4 : B8
User 02/02/2018 - 06:07
And sum it on sheet 1 C4
User 02/02/2018 - 06:07
if that makes sense...
Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:07
yes it does. give me a moment
User 02/02/2018 - 06:07
niiiceee!
User 02/02/2018 - 06:15

User 02/02/2018 - 06:18

Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:18
almost. Using IFS formula
User 02/02/2018 - 06:18
I wondered if it would be an IF or a SUMIF
Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:30
sorry for the delay. you use sumif formula. let me upload a file for you that i have worked on
User 02/02/2018 - 06:30

Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:37
Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:37

User 02/02/2018 - 06:37
Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:38
User 02/02/2018 - 06:39
omg I don't even understand that
User 02/02/2018 - 06:40
So it's saying if A4 appears in this range, sum the number in this other range. Right?
Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:42
look at this google sheet here. Sam smiths days are 15 based on the information on sheet two, right? all i do is to sum days based on the name here sam smith
User 02/02/2018 - 06:43
damn damn
User 02/02/2018 - 06:43
That's so smart. I thought I would have to reference Sam Smith somewhere in the sum but instead you reference the cell containing Sam Smith
User 02/02/2018 - 06:43
genious
User 02/02/2018 - 06:43

Excelchat Expert 02/02/2018 - 06:43
