I have a worksheet with several tables: Parking, Dining, Entertainment, etc. I am looking for a formula (not VBA) that can match information and return what Table the data is part of. For example, I have a summary table that shows me the most popular services in ranked fashion. I.e., Number one Music, Number two Dessert, Number 3 Comedy..etc. Everything is working fine, I just need a formula that tells me which table number one came from. So, like it matches Music in the top spot in a cell across from it under the Table Column, I want it to show that that information was pulled form the Entertainment table.

I have multiple "Job Cost" sets of data, each with 3 columns of data (Acct. Code, Description, and Price). I want to be able to place each job next to each other (1. ABC 2. DEF 3. GHI 4. etc.) Several jobs contain the same Acct. Codes but also contain different Acct. Codes. I want to be able to align each set of data Alphanumeric, aligning each Acct. Code with a match on the same row. When an Acct. Code is moved, the description and price must also follow the Acct. Code. For items without an exact match I want to leave a blank space in the Jobs without the match, without deleting the data. I tried a Macro from a free forum but I can't apply it to multiple jobs, nor can I format it to fit the layout I require. The goal is to compare multiple jobs side by side via ascending order of Acct. Codes.

hi, I am having trouble linking a name with a max value. I have followed what most people are saying with an =index formular etc... but i still get N/A. Here is my formula:- =INDEX('Weekly Team Points'!A2:A16,MATCH(MAX('Weekly Team Points'!F2:AQ16),'Weekly Team Points'!F2:AQ16,0)) Column A has the team names and F2-AQ16 are the points scored (the points are a =SUM formula from individual team sheets). The formula is on the "league table" sheet

I went into Excel this morning to enter some data I was working on the final column to see if it would match my bank and all the sudden things went haywire. Instead of dates It showed code numbers instead of my deductions and my projected balances it showed formula's. I am New to windows 10 and Excel and I don't know how to fix it save making a new spreadsheet and starting from scratch. Please help me so I don't have to spend HOURS re-entering data all over again.
