Cell C20 = "6" if there is any pre-April 2008 service. However, if there is no pre-April 2008 service the individual completes cell C23/D23 with actual service between April 2008 and March 2014 (max 5 years 11 months). I have used a dropdown. Problem is how do I stop C23/D23 being completed if cell C20 = 6. There may be a better way to achieve this. But bottom line is that I need this section either to give 6 years service where the employee worked before April 2008 or their actual service if after. But the total service between April 2008 and March 2014 cannot exceed 6 years.

I am trying to enter the following formula in Excel, and I am being told that I have entered too many arguments. I thought however the max was 7, which I do not have. Formula entered:
=IF(AND((M8>40),(M8<=50)),((M8-40)*O8),IF(M8<=40,0),IF((M8>50),(10*O8)))
Purpose is simply to state that if Cell M8 is over 40 but under or equal to 50, then I want to subtract 40 from it, and multiply it by cell O8. If M8 is less than or equal to 40, just enter 0, if M8 is greater than 50, I simply need it to multipy 10 by cell O8.

In the first column, 4, 5, and 9 are the highest values in their row.

I need a formula/function that will do the following:
Basically, if there is a "W" in the A row I need to subtract 1 from the previous B cell and the value for the corresponding B cell (A2->B2) must always be positive. Also, if the result in the A cell is an "L" then the result in the corresponding B cell needs to be negative and with 1 more or 1 less than the previous B cell depending on weather or not the previous A cell was a "W or an "L". Also, I need a second variant that will adjust for a MAX of "-5" that automatically resets the next value to +/- 1. (see examples)
