How to remove dotted lines in Excel – Excelchat

When working with Microsoft Excel, we might find it most suitable to remove the lines in the worksheet in order to make the work more presentable. Note that we all have used Excel at one point, and also, every company has used this tool to organize their financial data. To make our work look more organized, we need to format the sheets and thus we must learn how to remove the cell lines. This post provides a clear guide on removing cell lines in Excel 2010 as well as other versions.

Remove spreadsheet gridlines

When you open a spreadsheet, it will display a worksheet with dotted gridlines. Also, you will see faint lines which define the borders around cells. This is the default settings. These might not look more like dotted lines, but all the same, you will have to remove the lines to make the work a little bit different from the worksheet.

Note that gridlines can be confused with cell borders, but they can affect an entire spreadsheet. But when you print a worksheet, by default, the gridlines will not appear, but cell borders will appear. In order to remove the gridlines, select the View tab at the top of the screen. Then click remove the check mark in the Gridlines box. This is in the Show section of the ribbon. With this simple step, you would have been able to remove print lies in the spreadsheet.

Removing dotted cell borders

Many at times we just want to print an Excel spreadsheet without the dotted lines. To do this, we must ensure that we remove the dotted lines before printing our worksheet. But this is not an easy task, especially if you have not taken time to learn to remove the dotted lines.

Removing dotted lines is not a difficult task though, all you need to do is to turn off the borders. To do this, head to the Home tab, then the Font section. Here, you will be able to click on the Borders. In the drop-down menu that appears, turn off the borders, which is among the menu border options that you will be presented with.

Irrespective of where you work, knowing how to delete the dotted lines is crucial. This is because removing these lines can be the only thing you need to do to make your work look neat and presentable.

But you cannot just wake up and remove dotted lines from a spreadsheet, you first have to learn how to remove print lines. And as explained in this post, it is actually way too easy to get rid of dotted lines.
