Excel - IF Function Problem - Expert Solution

Question description:
This user has given permission to use the problem statement for this blog.

I have a schedule I'm doing with formulas to add workdays (across rows) to a start date column. I would like to write the equation like this: =ifError((workday(b2,1) = cell above, [value of cell above + 1] Help me form this correctly to get the (value of target cell) = (1 more than the value from the cell above) IF the target cell value started equal to the cell above.

User 09/08/2017 - 02:27
lemme ask you. will this account only for workdays? is that something that could be possible?
Excelchat Expert 09/08/2017 - 02:27
I used Month and Year from Column B
Excelchat Expert 09/08/2017 - 02:28
then added a day
Excelchat Expert 09/08/2017 - 02:28
You want to add workdays only ?
User 09/08/2017 - 02:28
if it could be written in =workday(,) then it would not need any more tweeking. its a schedule for subcontracting companies m-f 8-5
User 09/08/2017 - 02:29

User 09/08/2017 - 02:35
the dates will not be falling in the order provided. they will be dynamically input to that column
Excelchat Expert 09/08/2017 - 02:36
Sorry, please explain
User 09/08/2017 - 02:36
the build point has to be the linear move out date. and it needs to pivot on to the value of the cell above. maybe like this.if=value of cell above add 1
User 09/08/2017 - 02:37
only when the move out date justifies the value of the target cell
User 09/08/2017 - 02:37
not the cell above
Excelchat Expert 09/08/2017 - 02:37
it is based on value of cell above
Excelchat Expert 09/08/2017 - 02:37
c2 is based on value of B2
Excelchat Expert 09/08/2017 - 02:38
sorry c3 is based on vlaue of C2
Excelchat Expert 09/08/2017 - 02:38
Timer is running out
User 09/08/2017 - 02:38
=if(workday(b2,1) = c2-1), c2+1
