Which cell are you trying the IF function and what is the logic to be used?
User 16/10/2018 - 06:43
in cell AH i wish to have a function that if the total of set 1 2 and 3 (h) is greater than (i) add a point and keep adding points for every win if that makes sense
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:44
You have a total of 4 games.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:45
So do you mean to keep adding 1 if the the first set of totals is more than the later for all for games?
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:45
Say for the next game compare P5 and Q5 and so on...is that right?
User 16/10/2018 - 06:46
yes i think so,
User 16/10/2018 - 06:47
example jed and craig in cell d9 will play 3 games and the results will be in h6-8 and for every point they get i would like them to add up in AH
User 16/10/2018 - 06:48
sorry hard to explain
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:48
Please extend the time when it prompts as this may a little more time.
User 16/10/2018 - 06:48
ok
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:51
Are you able to view this preview screen on the right?
User 16/10/2018 - 06:52
yes i downloaded it
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:53
You do not have to download, its the same sheet that you sent me that I have pasted the data here.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:54
I am trying to understand your logic and need help.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:55
Under Team Name, you have the teams.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:56
Then in row 9 you have the opponents team, is that right?
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:57
So for Jed/Greg, in the given scenerio, how many wins should show in AH and which cells in the data should determine that. I can then create a formula based on that.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 06:59
Hi...are you with me?
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 07:02
Ok...let me create the formula based on my understanding. This will take few minutes. I will upload the file once done.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 07:07
Please look at the formula in column AH.

Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 07:08
I have done the same IF function. I have added 3 IF statments with a + sign.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 07:08
Hope this is what you wanted.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 07:09
I have also replicated the same formula for Losses column AI, with the logic change to if column H is less than I and so on.
Excelchat Expert 16/10/2018 - 07:09
Please feel free to leave any comments or feedback.
