Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:06

Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:07
on which sheet you are referring on your problem?
User 09/10/2018 - 01:08
icq visit review - look at Q S and T in row 4
User 09/10/2018 - 01:09
I need to modify these comments during a visit.
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:10
ok checking
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:11
what is not functioning right here?
User 09/10/2018 - 01:12
on the ICQ visit review sheet - I want the formula to show me the value of the cell so I can modify the standard comment.
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:13
value you mean the comments?
User 09/10/2018 - 01:13
yes
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:13
where the comments be located?
User 09/10/2018 - 01:14
the formula gets the comments come from the 2018 preschool wording sheet.
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:14
yes
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:15
and then you want to edit the comments right?
User 09/10/2018 - 01:15
yes
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:15
you can change it on the "2018 Preschool Wordings" sheet
User 09/10/2018 - 01:16
I don't want to change the standard wording.
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:16
ok
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:16
so which one you want to edit?
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:18
you could extend our time
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:18
so we could finish your template
User 09/10/2018 - 01:18
please don't worry I will work it out - please delet this sheet. thank you
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:19
oh wait, i can help you here
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:19
just tell me the exact solution that you want
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:19
so we can work it out
User 09/10/2018 - 01:21
I want to be able to modify the contents of cell Q4 in the ICQ visit review sheet once the formula has downloaded the content
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:22
ok
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:22
so if the comments appear on the box, you just want to slighlty edit this right?
User 09/10/2018 - 01:23
yes
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:23
what kind of edit, you want to add text or removing something?
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:24
if you will just adding some text we can do that in formula
User 09/10/2018 - 01:24
both - there is a way that the formula can provide just the value of the field which would then allow me to change content.
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:25
if we are removing some text, it will not be possible on a formula
User 09/10/2018 - 01:25
ok thanks for your help. I will think of another option.
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:25
what we can do on that was paste special
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:26
copy the cell value then use the paste special for that cell
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:26
but the formula will might remove because of that
User 09/10/2018 - 01:27
so how do I use an if statement then to tell it what to answer for yes and what to answer for no
User 09/10/2018 - 01:28
I want the formula removed\
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:28
for that one we need the formula the IF statement to get the answer for Yes & No
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:29
en if you will be going to edit the comments, thats the time we will used the paste special for that cell
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:29
on a way we can edit the comments
User 09/10/2018 - 01:29
so there is not way to build the value into the formula - so I would have to copy paste special for each cell ?
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:29
then if you will need to change the yes/no just copy paste again the formula for that cell
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:30
yes, since we are only looking up the value of the comments on the other sheet
User 09/10/2018 - 01:30
ok, thank you for your help.
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:30
the only way to change that, is to modify the text on the sheet where we are lookin gup
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:31
are you good on that now?
User 09/10/2018 - 01:31
yes - thank you - can you please permanently delete this sheet.
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:31
yes
Excelchat Expert 09/10/2018 - 01:31
