Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:20
I'm good too, thanks for asking.
User 07/10/2018 - 08:20
I am kind of stuck in a situation where I am not sure if excel can do it for me
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:20
I believe as per your description you need help with excel column , right?
User 07/10/2018 - 08:20
yes
User 07/10/2018 - 08:21
example, if the column has a number of names
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:21
Okay, i will try my best to help you out with thhis
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:21
Okay
User 07/10/2018 - 08:21
I want excel to ask a question like "Is your name column one? If yes enter 4 numbers"
User 07/10/2018 - 08:21
like a survey format
User 07/10/2018 - 08:22
then if a "next" option is pressed it goes to row 2 of column 1 and so on
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:22
Yes, this is possible in excel. Do you have have any sample worksheet that you can share?
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:23
Else I'm doing an example on the shared sheet if you can see
User 07/10/2018 - 08:23
I do not have anything of the sort as I did not pre plan in any sort
User 07/10/2018 - 08:23
yes pretty much that would be the list of names
User 07/10/2018 - 08:24
In the shared example, it would be , "Is your name Jane? If yes provide 4 numbers" and these 4 numbers would go to 4 adjacent columns
User 07/10/2018 - 08:24
something of that sorrt
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:25
Great i did it like that, using the If function of excel.
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:25
Let me know if any modification is required.
User 07/10/2018 - 08:26
yes its pretty much how it should be but rather, this would involve a survey type questionaire though, where the question would have D2, Answers would be E2,F2,G2,H2
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:27
Yep, please check now
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:27
Is it good?
User 07/10/2018 - 08:27
yes i can see that, I did something like this when i was testing but the problem I faced was in the "survey" part of things
User 07/10/2018 - 08:28
where I make it a questionaire using vba or excel live which I have no idea how to go forward with
User 07/10/2018 - 08:28
like a user survey form or a GUI
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:29
Yeah you can implement same thing using VBA though
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:29
But I really apologise saying this that we dont support n VBA/macro as per the companies policy.
User 07/10/2018 - 08:30
understood, but in this current version, how can it be made into a questionaire
User 07/10/2018 - 08:30
if it is possible that is
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:30
Okay, I will show you
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:31
Even if you have some fixed names then you can create a dropdown of the name's list too
User 07/10/2018 - 08:31
I believe for now the names will be fixed so if it is how would it be done?
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:32
Please see sheet2
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:32
And according to the answer here you will get the result there
User 07/10/2018 - 08:33
um a little change in what is in sheet 2
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:34
Yeah please go ahead and incorporate the change.
User 07/10/2018 - 08:34
What if i want it to change with a "next" option or every time I enter data, the question changes to the next row's name
User 07/10/2018 - 08:35
and that would change to Marry when data is entered
User 07/10/2018 - 08:35
is that doable?
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:35
Just let me frame the formula, just give me a while
User 07/10/2018 - 08:35
ok no worries
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:37
Okay, cool now please enter the name in D2 and check in sheet 1
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:38
Onle Jane or Marry
User 07/10/2018 - 08:38
so it redirects to sheet 1
Excelchat Expert 07/10/2018 - 08:39
Yeah both the sheets are linked and as per the input you will get the values there in sheet 1
User 07/10/2018 - 08:39
ok got it
