Excel - INDEX Function Problem - Expert Solution

Question description:
This user has given permission to use the problem statement for this blog.

I need to find an INDEX function that will convert the Call Day (a number 1-7) to the actual weekday found in row 1 of the DayofWeek named range. I don't know if I'm supposed to use the MATCH function as well or not.

Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:25
Do you have some data and want to show what exactly is required?
User 01/10/2018 - 02:26
Basically I have a table labled "CallDay" and one of the columns is a number 1-7 that represents a day of the week. I have another table labled "DayofWeek" and i need to find an INDEX function that takes the number from the CallDay and shows it as the day of the week the number represents
Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:26
okay. Can you share the table and data on spreadsheet on the right
User 01/10/2018 - 02:28
The Weekday column is where I need to input the equation
Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:28
You need sunday , monday in that?
User 01/10/2018 - 02:29
Yes I need an equation that will take the number in the Call Day and show it as a day of the week
Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:29
which is 1?
Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:29
sunday or monday?
User 01/10/2018 - 02:29
1 is Sunday
Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:29

Did you see?
Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:31
Please let me know
User 01/10/2018 - 02:31
It would help but we are supposed to use an INDEX equation since the days of the week are laid out horizontally with no numbers below or beside them.
Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:31
Yeah but you can convert it in the form of table that i have just shown and use vlookup
Excelchat Expert 01/10/2018 - 02:32
Populating weekday against a number should not be made that complicated..what do you say?
User 01/10/2018 - 02:33
I think I can make it work.
