No.
User 17/08/2018 - 09:14
is it possible understand why the pivot table will not recognize full numeric codes without the workbook?
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:14
Are you able to create an example dataset or pivot?
User 17/08/2018 - 09:15
No.
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:16
What is the format of these codes?
User 17/08/2018 - 09:18
essentially there are two workbooks. You run the macro and it takes the data from one workbook and populates into a sheet of another workbook. Within that other workkbook there is a pivot table which compares the codes of the inputed data to another sheet within the workbook. If a code is listed on both places then it populates a form. The macro/pivot table function correctly if the product is alphabetical or alpha-numeric however if the product code is numeric it does not work even though it is listed on both worksheets
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:20
I suggest at the time of comparison to convert variables to the same format.
User 17/08/2018 - 09:20
i tried code that into the macro and also changing the format
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:21
in this case, I suggest you replace everything with string and compare text, not numeric numbers,
User 17/08/2018 - 09:21
under the number section in th excel header
User 17/08/2018 - 09:21
code that into the macro?
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:22
if you use macra, yes, in the macro code.
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:22
Remember that the portal does not help with macro tasks.
User 17/08/2018 - 09:23
how would i do it if not through the macro?
User 17/08/2018 - 09:23
i just tried and it does not work
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:25
macro is a good way, but as I saw in the description of the portal unfortunately I can not help you with the improvement of the macro code, because the portal does not allow it.
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:26
do you change the number, e.g. 100 on a string and compare it to string '100' and it still does not work?
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:28
Do you see the preview of the Excel document on the right?
User 17/08/2018 - 09:29
yes
Excelchat Expert 17/08/2018 - 09:35
Unfortunately, without providing any sample data, it is very difficult for me to check where the problem is.
