This user has given permission to use the problem statement for this
blog.
I have a group of cells with information and I want to highlight the cells on a mac and no matter what i try if I highlight one corner and try to drag it it just copies the info from the first cell and deletes the info it is soooooo not user friendly

not without deleting everything in them and changing it to the first cell info it just copies it

when you drag the cell all it will do is copy the formulas or the actual values or in case of number increment them but formatting isnt passed on

now if you want to highlight a series of rows select 1 cell in the row then the last

exampl row 1 : select a1 hold the shift key then select z1
