Hi
User 14/08/2018 - 06:07
hello
User 14/08/2018 - 06:07
thanks for your help
User 14/08/2018 - 06:07
did you see my question
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:07
could you please explain little bit more
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:07
es
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:08
*yes
User 14/08/2018 - 06:08
i'm wondering how to format a cell to pull from a list of orders.. for example..
User 14/08/2018 - 06:09
apples 2 cases, bananas 3 cases, banana green 2 cases, oranges 1 case, juice orange 1 case
User 14/08/2018 - 06:09
in vertical format
User 14/08/2018 - 06:09
shall i show you in the preview?
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:10
yes, it would help
User 14/08/2018 - 06:10
so
User 14/08/2018 - 06:10
we have a "recap sheet" that we utilze to order
User 14/08/2018 - 06:10
i'll show in preview
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:11
sure
User 14/08/2018 - 06:12
so what i'm looking for is for the cell in sheet "recap" column B to pull from sheet "order sheet"s quantity
User 14/08/2018 - 06:12
so, for example
User 14/08/2018 - 06:12
...
User 14/08/2018 - 06:12
the quantities would automatically load the clients bananas from the first sheet
User 14/08/2018 - 06:13
makes sense?
User 14/08/2018 - 06:14
made a correction in sheet 1
User 14/08/2018 - 06:14
order sheet.. added ripe to bananas
User 14/08/2018 - 06:14
thanks
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:15
okay
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:20
Does this solve you rissue
User 14/08/2018 - 06:21
looks as tho you might have solved it batman
User 14/08/2018 - 06:21
or batlady
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:21
great
User 14/08/2018 - 06:21
so essentially you have the formula pulling directly from the cell
User 14/08/2018 - 06:21
so,
User 14/08/2018 - 06:22
if i need to condition the cell to read from sheet 1 with specifics now..
User 14/08/2018 - 06:22
for example
User 14/08/2018 - 06:22
apricot loose
User 14/08/2018 - 06:22
apricot organic
User 14/08/2018 - 06:22
apricot bunch
User 14/08/2018 - 06:22
how would i differentiate
User 14/08/2018 - 06:23
as in, where would i make that command sheet
User 14/08/2018 - 06:23
?.. make sense?
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:23
I did not follow
User 14/08/2018 - 06:24
okay.. sorry, i thought i was running out of time..
User 14/08/2018 - 06:24
okay.. essentially...
User 14/08/2018 - 06:24
i'll copy and past, one moment
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:24
cool
User 14/08/2018 - 06:26
okay
User 14/08/2018 - 06:27
soo, that's an example of my P.O
User 14/08/2018 - 06:27
my recap sheet, i'll have pre made myself
User 14/08/2018 - 06:27
but would read more like this.. (pasting example now)
User 14/08/2018 - 06:29
so
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:29
what is the question?
User 14/08/2018 - 06:29
i have to pull from sheet 3 the potatoes
User 14/08/2018 - 06:30
but the text is differnt on sheet 3 than it is on sheet 4
User 14/08/2018 - 06:30
would that be an issue?
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:31
would it be always the first word?
User 14/08/2018 - 06:31
likely.. then followed by a more specific description
User 14/08/2018 - 06:32
for example.. looking at the roots..there's 5 different types of roots
User 14/08/2018 - 06:32
as well as pounds/ counts..
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:32
if it's the first word then I will extract in column A
User 14/08/2018 - 06:33
understood.. now what about the second text.. the 40ct 50ct etc
User 14/08/2018 - 06:33
would that have to be differentiated in the conditional rules?
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:34
what do you mean?
User 14/08/2018 - 06:34
okay.. one moment.. sorry
User 14/08/2018 - 06:35
okay.. when you listed the conditions on order sheet
User 14/08/2018 - 06:35
i get it
User 14/08/2018 - 06:36
.. i'll just have to script a column before the descriptions in which the formula can understand
User 14/08/2018 - 06:36
okay.
User 14/08/2018 - 06:37
soo, i'll be able to copy your cells you created and work on it myself?
Excelchat Expert 14/08/2018 - 06:37
yes
User 14/08/2018 - 06:39
okay, great.. thanks for your help!!!
