Hello, I understand that you want to show X to the second column only if Comment A or Comment B is selected in the first column, right?
User

yes

Does your second column have a formula or a manually inputted value?
User

I want to have another scroll down list
Excelchat Expert

The reason I asked is because what you need will require a formula so the second column cannot have an existing value.

I am creating the 2 colums from scrach

I see. Let me prepare the formula. I'm assuming that your first column will be column A and the second column will be column B.
User

for example

Place this formula in B2.
Excelchat Expert
08/08/2018 - 02:29
=if(or(A2="Comment A",A2="Comment B"),"X","")

Then try to type something in A2. If the value in A2 is either Comment A or Comment B then it will return with an X

ok
Excelchat Expert

Try typing something in A2 or if you already have the data validation drop down list, select something.
Excelchat Expert
08/08/2018 - 02:31
The formula I gave you will only result to X if the value of A2 is either Comment A or Comment B.
User
08/08/2018 - 02:32
ok I got it
User
08/08/2018 - 02:32
sO i WILL NEED A FORMULA
User
08/08/2018 - 02:32
THERE IS NO OTHER WAY RIGHT?
Excelchat Expert
08/08/2018 - 02:33
For something to be automatic, it will either be a formula or VBA/Macro code which we currently do not support.
User

ok
