User 06/08/2018 - 06:00
for all the data points in the pivot table
User 06/08/2018 - 06:00
is there anyway to do that?
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:01
Just a moment..
User 06/08/2018 - 06:03
ok
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:07
You want to filter the once which are in bold?
User 06/08/2018 - 06:08
yeah so for instance I only want to show the final count of bank branches inn an area
User 06/08/2018 - 06:08
like just the bolded value thats on the same line as the zip code
User 06/08/2018 - 06:09
not the rest that follows... address.. city... state... bank name
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:09
Is it possible I can see the structure of the data and the pivot table itself?
User 06/08/2018 - 06:10
[Uploaded an Excel file]
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:15

Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:15

User 06/08/2018 - 06:15

User 06/08/2018 - 06:15
its 32 MB
User 06/08/2018 - 06:16
20 is max
User 06/08/2018 - 06:16
theres so much data in it im soryr
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:17
You can copy just a even 1000 lines, so that we can use it for illustration purposes then you can apply the same at your end to the whole data.
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:20
Are you copying it?
User 06/08/2018 - 06:20
no
User 06/08/2018 - 06:20
I dont know what you mean
User 06/08/2018 - 06:20
you want me to make a new document
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:21
Yeah, with just few rows of the original data..
User 06/08/2018 - 06:21
okay
User 06/08/2018 - 06:21
hold on
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:22
Ok
User 06/08/2018 - 06:24
[Uploaded an Excel file]
User 06/08/2018 - 06:24
here it is
User 06/08/2018 - 06:27
hello?
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:29
Having a look at it
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:29
The values in bold are what category?
User 06/08/2018 - 06:29
multiple
User 06/08/2018 - 06:29
I want to keep everything but just remove the count for certain things
User 06/08/2018 - 06:29
like bank name
User 06/08/2018 - 06:30
like address
User 06/08/2018 - 06:30
I only want the zip
User 06/08/2018 - 06:30
the bold one above the light blue line
User 06/08/2018 - 06:30
and then for deposits I only want the ones next to branch name and then the total for the zip
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:34
You mean you want to only see the zip?
User 06/08/2018 - 06:34
no I only want the value in Columns B & C to show
User 06/08/2018 - 06:34
I want to keep everything in column A
User 06/08/2018 - 06:35
or somehow just move the values such as bank name address city state to a new columnb
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:37
Do you mean something like this:
[Uploaded an Excel file]
User 06/08/2018 - 06:37
no
User 06/08/2018 - 06:38
I want to keep everything in column A but I dont want the count to show next to bank name, branch name, address, city, state
User 06/08/2018 - 06:38
I only want zip ode
User 06/08/2018 - 06:38
thats for column B
User 06/08/2018 - 06:38
in column C -- Deposits, I want to show the total deposits for the zip and the deposit only for the inndividual branCH NAME
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:43
I get what you mean.
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:44
PivotTables cannot be manipulated in such a ways since they automatically assign values to all fields specified.
User 06/08/2018 - 06:44
do you have any idea how to fix?
User 06/08/2018 - 06:44
okay
User 06/08/2018 - 06:44
so no chance to fix
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:45
Unless you create another table based on the data on the PivotTable.
User 06/08/2018 - 06:45
hmm
User 06/08/2018 - 06:45
I can try that
User 06/08/2018 - 06:45
also one more question
User 06/08/2018 - 06:45
so I have several more of those zip codes
User 06/08/2018 - 06:45
but I only want some of them
User 06/08/2018 - 06:45
theres like 320 I want
User 06/08/2018 - 06:45
but I dont want to have to go through the filter to select only the ones I want
User 06/08/2018 - 06:46
is there a way to just get the program to only display the zip codes ive selected
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:47
It can be possible or not depending on the structure of the data from which the PivotTable is built from.
User 06/08/2018 - 06:47
well its the same pivot
User 06/08/2018 - 06:48
is it doable
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:49
Is there a criteria for selecting the zip codes?
User 06/08/2018 - 06:49
yeah there was
User 06/08/2018 - 06:49
I already pulled the ones I want
User 06/08/2018 - 06:49
theres a list of 300
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:50
Are they the ones in sheet 2?
User 06/08/2018 - 06:50
no
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:51
It is possible if you exclude the ones you don't want from the data
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:53
Otherwise if they are not excluded from the pivottable source data, it will be as well not possible to be displayed.
User 06/08/2018 - 06:54
ah but I dont want to go through it
User 06/08/2018 - 06:54
I just wanted to feed this list through and have it auto select
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:55
Even a slicer tool can't do that.
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:56
It just filters then ones which you have selected/deselected
User 06/08/2018 - 06:56
okay
User 06/08/2018 - 06:56
I will just have to through it manually then
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:57
Hope Excel will add such functionality in the future.
User 06/08/2018 - 06:57
ok thanks
Excelchat Expert 06/08/2018 - 06:57
Thank you for your patience.
