User 26/07/2018 - 04:10
did you see that question
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:10
So you need to subtract two cells that are dates, and if the result is less than 30 days, then that cell needs to be colored red?
User 26/07/2018 - 04:11
sure
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:11
Yep sure did - do you have a file you would like me to add this logic to?
User 26/07/2018 - 04:11
no
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:11
Are you using Excel or google sheets?
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:12

User 26/07/2018 - 04:12
Show me how to turn column C red when C Minus B is less than 30
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:12
You will have to go into the conditional formatting menu within Excel to set up that part, but I can walk you through it

Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:14

Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:14
and then if you can give me a minute I will get you the rest.
User 26/07/2018 - 04:14
k
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:15
do you have just one cell selected right now? C3, for instance?
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:15
or the entire column?
User 26/07/2018 - 04:15
column
User 26/07/2018 - 04:16
c
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:16
can you please just select a single cell
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:16
The first date in your file on the right
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:16
then go back into the conditionmal format menu
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:16
new rule, use formula
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:17
sorry one second
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:18
=B2-A2<30
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:19
if you're in a different row other than 2
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:19
then change the number to whatever row you're in
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:19
perhaps 1
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:19
=B1-A1<30
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:20
it might be =C1-B1<30 if your data is in columns B and C
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:20
then you have to select a color that you want to use as the formatting
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:20
Click format, then select the red cell fill
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:21
Let me know if you get what I mean!
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:21
I can always send you a test file of this completed if you'd like
User 26/07/2018 - 04:23
how do i copy the conditional format
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:24
do you see the "Format Painter" button on the top left side of the screen?
User 26/07/2018 - 04:24
yep
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:24
make sure you have the cell selected, then click that painter button
Excelchat Expert 26/07/2018 - 04:24
