Hello
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:27
I've read your post. If I understand it correctly, you want cell S36 to return 1 if cell A10 is equal to cell S7 and cell C10 has a value. Is this correct? :)
User 21/07/2018 - 03:27
Yes that is correct.
User 21/07/2018 - 03:28
It can be be cells in a closer range if that helps but yes that is correct.
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:28
Okay nice! Just to clarify, what should cell S36 return if the conditions are not met? Should it just be blank?
User 21/07/2018 - 03:28
1 if all conditions are met, 0 if they are not.
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:29
Okay, noted on that. In cell S36, please enter the following formula:
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:29
=IF(AND(A10=S7,C10>0),1,0)
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:30
Please ping me up if the formula works correctly. Thanks!
User 21/07/2018 - 03:31
That worked. I have one more variation of the problem if it is possible.
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:31
Okay i see. I can help with that since it's related to our earlier problem. :)
User 21/07/2018 - 03:32
Can we do the same thing but make the conditions, if (A10=S7 and C10=YES) or (A10=S7 And d10=Any Value)
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:33
Yes, we can do that. Let me revise our earlier formula to integrate your new conditions.
User 21/07/2018 - 03:33
So is it possible to combine the equation you gave me with a or statement where A10=S7 and C10=YES?
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:33
That is correct. :)
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:33
And you're right in making use of the OR statement to include your new conditions. :)
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:34
Please see below the revised formula:
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:34
=IF(OR(AND(A10=S7,C10="YES"),AND(A10=S7,D10<>"")),1,0)
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:35
So as you have mentioned, we included an OR statement that encompasses our two AND functions. So if any of the AND statements return a TRUE logic, the formula will return a 1. Otherwise, it will be 0. :)
User 21/07/2018 - 03:36
Awesome that worked perfectly.
Excelchat Expert 21/07/2018 - 03:36
Do you have clarifications with the solution provided? ;)
