Welcome to excelchat.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:07
My understanding is that you want to convert week numbers to month, is that correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
User 06/07/2018 - 05:08
to a text for the month 1-4 in column would be "jan" ... 5-9 would be "feb" and so on
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:08
Can you please show me what you said on the preview spreadsheet?
User 06/07/2018 - 05:10
I can do the one month ... but having trouble adding in more If functions
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:11
Just like that?
User 06/07/2018 - 05:11
yes .. and I have weeks up to 52 so need the @ if to have 12 conditions
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:12
I'm finding it hard to understand what do you mean by "@", but I do understand that you need to get the months name from a given week number.
User 06/07/2018 - 05:13
=IF(L2<5,"JAN")+or IF(L2>=5, "feb")
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:14
I believe I got the problem. We would need 12 nested IF formulas for 12 months.
User 06/07/2018 - 05:14
yes .. and i need equal or greater within the next IF
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:15
Yeah, I understand. That would be a very long and confusing formula. There is a better alternative. I can do both.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:15
Would you like to see the alternative one or I should go with the IF?
User 06/07/2018 - 05:16
im comfortable with Iut open to easist way
User 06/07/2018 - 05:16
comfortable with IF
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:17
Okay, I will show the alternative one first.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:17
Please give me some times.
User 06/07/2018 - 05:17
?
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:17
I need some time to put up the formula.
User 06/07/2018 - 05:18
ok
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:18
In the meantime, if you can, please put the list for the week numbers and there respective months in the spreadsheet.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:19
Ah, I'm doing it in column J and K, correct me if you see me doing it wrong.
User 06/07/2018 - 05:20

User 06/07/2018 - 05:20

User 06/07/2018 - 05:21

Yeah, that is correct.
User 06/07/2018 - 05:21

Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:22

User 06/07/2018 - 05:22
sure -- like to see what I was stuck on formula wise
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:23
Okay, please extend the time when you are asked.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:25
=IF(B5<5,"Jan",IF(AND(B5>=5,B5<=8,"Feb",IF(AND(B5>=9,B5<=13),"Mar",IF(AND(B5>=14,B5<=17),"Apr","May")))))
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:26
Here I've done upto Apr.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:26
I see you have opted against to extend time.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 05:27
