hi
Excelchat Expert 05/07/2018 - 11:59
Could you describe me your problem again?
User 06/07/2018 - 12:01
I need a formula to place the value of one cell into another cell making both the cell values the same. This is done in the IF formula in the, [value_if_true] part.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:04
So, lets see if I understood.. For example, in cell A1 there is number 15. You want that if some logical test is true for example A1 have value 15 also
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:07
Cell A2 was supposed to be in last sentence, sorry
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:09
If I understood you right, that formula would be if(logical test;A2=A1;something what happens if false)
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:09
Are you still there?
User 06/07/2018 - 12:11
yes
User 06/07/2018 - 12:11
using the IF function
User 06/07/2018 - 12:12
I need to calculate
User 06/07/2018 - 12:12
this
User 06/07/2018 - 12:12
my current formula which does not work is this
User 06/07/2018 - 12:12
=IF(SQRT(B4)<E3,=B2,=A2)
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:13
Did you put ; or , in formula
User 06/07/2018 - 12:13
No
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:14
You cannot have kommas between logical test, value if true and value if false
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:14
You have to put ;
User 06/07/2018 - 12:15
The formula still did not work
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:16
Try to write not only =B2 and =A2
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:16
Write name of the cell in front of =
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:16
For example A6=B2;A6=A2
User 06/07/2018 - 12:17
But I want the value of B2 in the cell which I am writing the formula in.
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:18
Okay lets start over
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:19
If sqrt(B4)<E3 what do you want to happen
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:19
Tell me without formulas
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:19
Only words
User 06/07/2018 - 12:21
I want B2 to have the same value as A5. so A5 is 550
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:21
And if that logical test is false what do you want to happen
User 06/07/2018 - 12:24
I want the value of A5 to be 222
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:25
Then your formula would be if(sqrt(B4)<E3;A5=B2;A5=A4)
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:25
Try is this working
User 06/07/2018 - 12:25
ok I will try
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:27
I made a mistake, sorry
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:27
I found good formula
User 06/07/2018 - 12:28
ok
User 06/07/2018 - 12:28
What is this good formula?
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:31
I wrote it
User 06/07/2018 - 12:31
I will try it
Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:31
Okay
User 06/07/2018 - 12:34
yes
User 06/07/2018 - 12:34
Thank you for your help
User 06/07/2018 - 12:34

Excelchat Expert 06/07/2018 - 12:34
