Excel - IF Function Problem - Expert Solution

Question description:
This user has given permission to use the problem statement for this blog.

I have the following formula in a column of 1000+ rows: =IF($E$13=1,0,IF(Census!$L$8=99,0,Census!$H$8)) I want to use Find/Replace to find all the references to "$E$" and change it to just be "E". I keep getting the message that "We couldn't find what you were looking for. Try changing the search Options to "Look in:Values", but Values is not an option. How can I make this change without doing it manually 1000+ times.

Hi there!
Excelchat Expert 18/06/2018 - 07:16
There should be an option when you go into the Find and Replace menu - "Look in - Formulas".
Excelchat Expert 18/06/2018 - 07:16
Can you see that option in there? If so, might you be able to try it and see it the find/replace works?
User 18/06/2018 - 07:17
The only option I have in "Look in" is Formulas.
Excelchat Expert 18/06/2018 - 07:18
That's the one. But select the entire column that the formula is in, and then find/replace, look in formulas, $E$ to just E

I could also process it as well if it's not working for you if you can attach your file?
User 18/06/2018 - 07:20
Oh man! That was too easy. I had only selected a portion of the column I wanted to change. When I selected the whole column it worked like a charm! Thank you!
Excelchat Expert 18/06/2018 - 07:20
Ahhh yes that would do it!
