For your question, here is the answer based on current cell layout
User 08/06/2018 - 02:56
how about in reverse to get the result of 0.601
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 02:56
Well, not sure what numbers you would like to change in this case
User 08/06/2018 - 02:57
if you divide 71 with 118 you will get 0.601
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 02:58
you mean 118 / 71?
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 02:59
The result is in A5
User 08/06/2018 - 03:00
that equal 1.66.... I am looking for the formula for 71/118 that will equal 0.601

Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 03:03
Now, its kind of reverse the work
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 03:03
And calculate one of the sums
User 08/06/2018 - 03:10
didn't work
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 03:10
which one?
User 08/06/2018 - 03:11
=sum(A1:B1)/A1 in reverse
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 03:12
Well, i believe the answer you are looking for is how the 71/118 came from correct?
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 03:12
now sum of A2 and B2 = 71
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 03:12
and then it divide divided by A2
Excelchat Expert 08/06/2018 - 03:12
That will becomes value in #2
User 08/06/2018 - 03:14
sum of A1 is 71, sum of B1 is 47 on my sheet total is 118. looking for formula to get average that equals 0.601
