To confirm my understanding - you need to calculate for difference of an identified date to today's date expressed in "days". Is this correct?
User

correct
User

but i would also like to know how long the match length is in years

So in cell C2, which is the adjacent cell to the first date in column B (10/22/14) - you enter the formula =DATEDIF(B2,TODAY(),"Y")
Excelchat Expert
03/06/2018 - 05:27
The DATEDIF function is composed of three parts - 1) Start Date = B2, 2) End Date = TODAY(), 3) units = "Y" or in years

Could you follow so far?
User

yes
User

if I remove the "Y" does it show it in days?
Excelchat Expert
03/06/2018 - 05:30
Cool. So the same formula is applied in cell D2
Excelchat Expert
03/06/2018 - 05:30
if you change "Y" to "d" then you get answer in days
