Can you show me your work in the preview window?
User

My actual formula is =IF(F10="N",1,IF(F10="C",2,IF(F10="S",3,IF(F10="L",4,IF(F10="W",5,0))))). I entered an N into F10 and 0 showed up instead of 1

Okay, lets see.

The same formula you wrote is working in the preview sheet. Did you enter N manually or copy pasted it from a source?
User
05/04/2018 - 02:30
Entered it manually

Is the formula =IF(F10="N",1,IF(F10="C",2,IF(F10="S",3,IF(F10="L",4,IF(F10="W",5,0))))) part of a bigger formula?
Excelchat Expert
05/04/2018 - 02:38
which isn't working?
User
05/04/2018 - 02:40
That's the entire formula
Excelchat Expert
05/04/2018 - 02:40
And it still isn't working?

When I saved the worksheet as a different sheet and erased all but the formula it worked. It just didn'tseem to work in the original workshet

I see. May be there was something off with the formatting of the original sheet. But I cannot say for sure without taking a look.
