How are you and how may i assist you with today?
User 31/03/2018 - 06:10
OK, Column a thru say e, each line has an array of number from 1 thru 20: I want to put 1 thru 10 on line 1, columns g------: I want to be able to say is 6 in the array (a - E),, if so, then return an "x" if not leave blank
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:10
Okay, i will try my best to help you out with this
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:10
Can you share me a sample worksheet
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:10
So that we both can have a better evaluation to the issue
User 31/03/2018 - 06:10
can I type on the spread sheet on the screen
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:10
Yep sure
User 31/03/2018 - 06:13
So ..... I want the x in the 2, (h column), also the 16, 18 and 7, but not in the 1, 3 or 5
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:14
Okay so what would be the criteria for that?
User 31/03/2018 - 06:14
I have about 150 lines, and I need to see a representation of the patter going down - at a glance
User 31/03/2018 - 06:14
sorry, pattern
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:15
On what criteria we shall have those X to put up
User 31/03/2018 - 06:15
I'm sorry I don't understand your question
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:16
based on some fixed numbers like 2,4, 7 we shall get X? or how should the X come in?
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:17
pattern in the sense are those prime numbers?
User 31/03/2018 - 06:17
I want to say that the Number 5, 2, 16, 18 and 7 are x's. Then again I want to be able to see when those number would repeat....is taking 2: it repeats on line 6, lin 20, line 23, 24 and 50
User 31/03/2018 - 06:19
That formula doesn't work, it's not putting an "x in the column "H" and nothing in colum "g"
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:19
M not able to get it, can you be more specific step by step
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:21
Means If H3 is X then in B4 you want to see X?
User 31/03/2018 - 06:21
OK. I want to look at the array on line 3: we have a 5, 2, 16, 18 and 7: I want an X under the columns K, H, M etc..., then on line 4, I want to do the same with the next set of numbers
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:22
Okay, i think i got it now
User 31/03/2018 - 06:22
OK
User 31/03/2018 - 06:25
Do I use the "match" function? If so, how do I make that formula say X in the appropriate column and leave the other blank?
Excelchat Expert 31/03/2018 - 06:26
Will get you the appropriate formula, just give me a while
User 31/03/2018 - 06:26
OK - thanks
