User 17/03/2018 - 01:07

Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:08
So lets move towards the issue, Steve
User 17/03/2018 - 01:08
ok ill make an example in the sheet and we can discuss, i think it might be a simple issue
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:08
yep, that will be great!
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:13
i guess you should have prepared this earlier, session time is running out
User 17/03/2018 - 01:14
this is a start think you should kind of understand what I'm doing
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:15
Yes i can frame it some
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:15
So you want total time for each of the items in column B right?
User 17/03/2018 - 01:16
so i want to sum the times for each unique name then sum the subtotals a grand total
User 17/03/2018 - 01:16
yes
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:16
User 17/03/2018 - 01:16
oh now i should say
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:17
So for this we will be using Sumif formula
User 17/03/2018 - 01:17
column B has a formula in each cell that is returning the data that is currently there from somewhere else
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:17
Thats fine, it wont impact
User 17/03/2018 - 01:18
ok i get the idea of sumif
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:18
i have done it shall i share you the sheet?
User 17/03/2018 - 01:18
i just don't know the syntax or the kind of code to write to do that kind of formula
User 17/03/2018 - 01:18
yes
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:19
Please review and let me know
User 17/03/2018 - 01:21
ok just looking I'm just trying to understand the summit you wrote give me a second
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:21

User 17/03/2018 - 01:22

User 17/03/2018 - 01:22

Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:23
Well we are allowed to support 1 question per session, as per got it pro! policy
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:23
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:23
User 17/03/2018 - 01:24
oh i didn't know because i just extended my session time for more questions
User 17/03/2018 - 01:24
ok well this is part of a workbook and there are other things I'm doing
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:24
Thats okay
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:24

User 17/03/2018 - 01:24
well its not ok for me if i can't get any more help
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:25
okay you may share the workbook so we can discuss verbally on that
User 17/03/2018 - 01:25
maybe i need to log in again and ask my 1 question as a 16 part question so i can get more questions answered within my 1 question
User 17/03/2018 - 01:26
well i can't share the workbook as its classified
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:26
User 17/03/2018 - 01:26
unless you have an Australian, British or American clearance level of G14 or above you can not look at this workbook
User 17/03/2018 - 01:27
it is classified as "Eyes Only"
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:27
Okay
User 17/03/2018 - 01:27
but i can talk about different examples to similar problems as i have so far
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:27
User 17/03/2018 - 01:27
ok
User 17/03/2018 - 01:28
so i hae a formula that returns the list you can see in column B
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:28
yes got it
User 17/03/2018 - 01:28
and now you have summed these for me
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:28
mmmhm
User 17/03/2018 - 01:29
i also have one more formula wait a second ill get it.
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:31
are you there?
User 17/03/2018 - 01:33
yes just a moment
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:33
Sure
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:34
Just give me 5mins
Excelchat Expert 17/03/2018 - 01:34
i will be back with this
User 17/03/2018 - 01:42
ok so i need to merge or add the formula i have in F5 to what you made me before so that the subtotals also take into account the start and end datesdates
User 17/03/2018 - 01:43
so basically a person can put in the start and end dates they wish and get subtotals and a grand total for the unique data in the list between those dates
User 17/03/2018 - 01:43
hello?
User 17/03/2018 - 01:46
are you there?
User 17/03/2018 - 01:50
helloooooooooo anybody home..home ..homehomehome
User 17/03/2018 - 01:50

User 17/03/2018 - 01:51
