Hi
User 02/03/2018 - 12:47
hi
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:47
do you have existing excel file?
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:48
with values?
User 02/03/2018 - 12:48
ok give me a sec and i will compile one for you
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:49
so what will be the problem here?
User 02/03/2018 - 12:49
so basically i want to look up b1, to d to k4, then bring back the value from l1 to4
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:50
there is no value in b1
User 02/03/2018 - 12:50
exactly, so b1 should return l1
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:50
oh i see
User 02/03/2018 - 12:50
sorry l2
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:51
b1 or b2/
User 02/03/2018 - 12:51
b2
User 02/03/2018 - 12:51
sorry
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:52
then from column D, where will i go?
User 02/03/2018 - 12:52
may be i didnt explain correctly
User 02/03/2018 - 12:52
imagine a normal vlookup,
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:53
so first step is to find BAA1000 in column D?
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:53
is it correct?
User 02/03/2018 - 12:53
you would lookup a2, and the table array will be d to l. and the return value will be what is in L
User 02/03/2018 - 12:53
but i want to lookup mulitple fields to bring up the data in col L
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:55
did i get it right?
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:55
this is a normal vlookup
User 02/03/2018 - 12:55
thats the correct data you have returned
User 02/03/2018 - 12:56
but I wanted to use multiple lookups from d to K
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:56
just drag down my formula
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:57
anything else?
User 02/03/2018 - 12:58
i dont think this it
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 12:58
please explain what you wanted to have
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 01:00
PAL8100 is not in column D to K so an error was returned
User 02/03/2018 - 01:01
You see a3 has bought back n/a
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 01:01
if you have the full table, it will not return an error
User 02/03/2018 - 01:01
it should bring back Ps10081
User 02/03/2018 - 01:02
but the table is going across
User 02/03/2018 - 01:02
I want it to look up the value in dtok
User 02/03/2018 - 01:02
d to k
User 02/03/2018 - 01:02
not just D
User 02/03/2018 - 01:02
i know how to do a vlookup, but i want to look up multiple ref
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 01:02
all the values in one column?
User 02/03/2018 - 01:03
so L is what I want to return
User 02/03/2018 - 01:03
but the lookup needs to look up d to k and return L once it matched what is in column A
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 01:04
i get some of your thoughts
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 01:11
can you try and check the formula again
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 01:11
?
User 02/03/2018 - 01:12
ok one min pls
Excelchat Expert 02/03/2018 - 01:12
i think i got it right
User 02/03/2018 - 01:14
yes i think thats it
User 02/03/2018 - 01:14
nks
User 02/03/2018 - 01:14
i just need to amend the formula to my spreadsheet now
User 02/03/2018 - 01:15
