i want to hide a column but still use it in formula. is this even possible?

sorry thats not possible. but here is the detailed question. in M3 column i have a formula to calculate profit/loss i need a formula to update balance in N column . for example my inital balnce is 100 usd. if profit is 5 usd in m column . n column should update 105usd. if loss is -3 usd . n column should show 97 usd
