Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:10
My understanding is that, by running total you mean cumulative balance, right?
User 12/02/2018 - 10:10
right
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:11
I have wrote a formula in column F, would you please input some samples in column D and E and test the formula?
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:12
Is it alright?
User 12/02/2018 - 10:12
yes
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:14
you have the formulas?
User 12/02/2018 - 10:14
where are they?
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:14
this is for first row =D2-E2
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:15
From 2nd row use this =F2+D3-E3.

Do I have to keep writing in a formula
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:16
You can drag the formula down.
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:17
Like this.
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:17
Do you want me to modify the formula so that when col D and E both are blank, F will also be blank?
User 12/02/2018 - 10:18
Can you show me how to drag it again
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:19
Sure.
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:21
So, when you select a cell in excel, do you see a rectangle at the bottom right corner of that cells border? move your mouse pointer over it, you will then see your mouse pointer making a plus sign, now hold it and drag it down.
User 12/02/2018 - 10:21
yes and ok
User 12/02/2018 - 10:22
So I won't have to keep writing a formula in the balance column
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:22
Yup.
Excelchat Expert 12/02/2018 - 10:22
That's true.
User 12/02/2018 - 10:23
Thanks now I hope it will work when I create my register
