Question description:
This user has given permission to use the problem statement for this blog.

looking for an Iferror formula that will bring back a blank value if a date is not listed. Currently using the following but want to add an Iferror statement: =TEXT(H2,"DDDD"). H2 is the raw date ex. 2/8/18. I tried =IFERROR(TEXT(H2,"DDDD"),"") but it keeps returning "saturday" instead of a blank cell. Any help is appreciated.

having issues with an iferror statement returning a name instead of a blank cell
Excelchat Expert 08/02/2018 - 12:40
As I understand you want to check if a cell has date or not. If it has a date then it should return date, else cell should be blank.
User 08/02/2018 - 12:40
correct

Excelchat Expert 08/02/2018 - 12:44
The function is checking for date correctly, I need to apply your IF condition to it.

Excelchat Expert 08/02/2018 - 12:51
So in cell E4 you want a blank value as D4 is blank or not a date.
User 08/02/2018 - 12:51
my spreadsheet will have some cells without a date and I don't want the day of the week populating and just reflecting a blank cell
User 08/02/2018 - 12:52
correct
Excelchat Expert 08/02/2018 - 12:52
OK. Let me modify the formula.
