On one spread sheet I have a column of part numbers.

On another spreadsheet I have another column with part numbers as well. Some of the part numbers in the column above are in it but some are not, so I can't just sort them.
Excelchat Expert

Okay. That's on another worksheet.
User

I am also trying to put the cost of the second column of parts sorted to match the part numbers on the first spread sheet, make sense?
User

I'm not really great at explaining myself lol

On the first worksheet, at the adjacent column there is the listed price.
Excelchat Expert
19/12/2017 - 02:51
You want to get the cost from the first worksheet and have that cost be transferred to the second worksheet? Is that what you mean?
Excelchat Expert
19/12/2017 - 02:52
I mean the cost, not price..
User

On the first work sheet I just need the part numbers. From the second work sheet, I want to match up the numbers that match as well as pricing to that first spread sheet column.
User
19/12/2017 - 02:53
The cost and the parts that coincide with that cost
User
19/12/2017 - 02:53
On the first sheet, I want just the part numbers.
Excelchat Expert
19/12/2017 - 02:53
Okay.
User

From the second sheet I want to match the part numbers and cost from those part numbers to the part numbers on the first sheet.
Excelchat Expert
19/12/2017 - 02:55
So, the formula must be written on the second worksheet, am I right?
User
19/12/2017 - 02:55
I believe so.

You typed in the values in worksheet 2, column B.. Those are the costs?
Excelchat Expert
19/12/2017 - 02:58
I guess we just need a VLOOKUP function to do that.

You can use this formula: =IF(VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:B,2,FALSE),VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:B,2,FALSE),"")
Excelchat Expert

Here is another formula: =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:B,2,FALSE),"")
