User 01/12/2017 - 08:16

User 01/12/2017 - 08:16
i'm not sure that i know. I'm a new user
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:17
okay, if you didn't download it, we will send it to your email.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:17
However, for the sake of time, I will just recreate it for you and add in the VBA.
User 01/12/2017 - 08:17

User 01/12/2017 - 08:17

Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:18
How many columns of data do you have associated with each name?
User 01/12/2017 - 08:18
6
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:27
Okay, I'm over half done.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:27
One issue I am going to have is:
User 01/12/2017 - 08:27
great
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:28
My excel file goes all the way down to 12,000 ros.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:28
rows
User 01/12/2017 - 08:28
sure
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:28
I can't process that many rows in a VBA
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:28
to test.
User 01/12/2017 - 08:28
ah. we could limit the number to 250 rows if that helps
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:28
Can you give me a fixed range and then you can change it later.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:28
Yes, that is perfect.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:32
Please extend session when if gives you option.
User 01/12/2017 - 08:35
caught it just in time
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:36
whew :)
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:36
I'm working on eliminating blanks from the sorted data. Then is should be complete.
User 01/12/2017 - 08:37
i'm excited to see it :)
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:43
Testing now.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:49
Okay, it works perfectly.
User 01/12/2017 - 08:49
awesome!
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:49
Now, all I have to do is get it to run everytime a cell is changed in sheet1.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:49
Can you access dropbox?
User 01/12/2017 - 08:50

Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 08:50
Okay, That's how I'll send the file.
User 01/12/2017 - 09:02

Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:03

Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:04
I'm uploading to dropbox now.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:05
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8g8dx6pb2ozuqnf/VBA%20Alph.xlsm?dl=0
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:05
There you go!
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:05
Click that link and then anytime you activate Sheet2 the code will run to realphatize the list.
User 01/12/2017 - 09:06
got it
User 01/12/2017 - 09:07
so, I should build out my file from this document?
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:07
Let me know if you have any questions.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:07
I would yse.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:07
yes.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:07
Because there is code specific to that document.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:07
If you wanted to do this on another file, you would have to transfer the code over to the VBA developer.
User 01/12/2017 - 09:07
got it
User 01/12/2017 - 09:07
nope. happy to build it in this oen
User 01/12/2017 - 09:07
*one
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:08
Perfect.
User 01/12/2017 - 09:10
so, i'm seeing that, in column's B:G on sheet 2 it's returning only Column B from sheet 1
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:10
Shouldn't be. I'm reviewing now.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:11
Okay, that is an easy fix.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:11
Change the B in column C to C,
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:11
B to D in column D
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:11
etc..
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:11
I'll work on doing that for you, but wanted you to have the solution in case.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:13
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8g8dx6pb2ozuqnf/VBA%20Alph.xlsm?dl=0
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:13
Okay, this file should have it correct.
Excelchat Expert 01/12/2017 - 09:13
is everything else working as intended?
