User
14/09/2017 - 08:29

Excelchat Expert

We will create an absolute reference to E1. Then copy a simple percentage formula down.
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:30
=B2/$E$1
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:31
The "$" locks the cell
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:31
So $E locks column E
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:31
and $1 locks row 1.
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:31
So $E$1 locks cell E1.

Perfect. My boss asked me to create a LOOKUP table so i may be coming back for more help because I am relatively new to excel.

Have you heard of the new subscription version of Excel? You can keep using your existing computer/laptop and get latest features automatically like online file sharing, and even a browser version of Excel that work with your files. I like it.

You should try it. It doesn’t cost much. It’s called Office 365 Business.
User
14/09/2017 - 08:35
If i uploaded a file could you help me real quick?
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:36
I'm sorry, I'd love to help, but it is unfortunately against company policy and I could be disciplined if I breached contract.
User
14/09/2017 - 08:36
Understandable. Could i just join another session and receive help from it?
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:37
Yes.
User
14/09/2017 - 08:37
It may be against company policy again, but could i specifically request you for help?
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:38
Yes, you can, but another expert may still claim the question.
User
14/09/2017 - 08:38
Oh okay. Thank you for your help
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:38
You're very welcome. Just specify that'd you want to work with the same expert as before.
User
14/09/2017 - 08:39
Will do. If i do not have an account registered they will still be able to tell who i worked with before because of my IP address right?
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:40
The other experts don't see that information. We all work remotely and compete for sessions.
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:40
Some may avoid claiming because of your mention of previous expert though
User
14/09/2017 - 08:41
Well a question will appear at exactly X:45. which is in 4 minutes and it will have a question about a VLOOKUP table. If you see the question thats me haha
Excelchat Expert
14/09/2017 - 08:42
okay, i'll keep an eye out thank you.
