Hi, I have problem with formula MATCH and reference cell. I have created a column of range values, for example like this: Z1=A1:A10, Z2=B1:B10, Z3=C1:C10... I first use VLOOKUP to find the cell with range I need and that I use the result in MATCH formula instead of range - cell reference to the range. I get N/A error. I think the problem is that Vlookup returns "range" value as text. I tried multiple ways to change it to general or number data type but nothing works. Also I tried to go around and use combination of index and match to come to the same result but it returns the same N/A value. I am out of options how to fix it. Any advice?

I have a pretty complicated formula that I am trying to work out. I assume I need to use IF & VLOOKUP in the one formula to make this work, but I cannot get it to work how I want it to and I am not even sure it can happen. So I want to type a Team Name into say call A2 (Finals 1 sheet), down below I have Players Numbers & Players Name A5:B15. I have a "Players List" sheet that already have the completed names & numbers in it. Is there a way that I can type the team name into A2 and it automatically populates the player numbers & names into the cells below?

I have a vlookup formula but it seems that excel is not recognizing the lookup value in the cell. I already checked that the formula is correct, and the formatting is not text. Any other reasons why it isn't recognizing the cell value?

I'm using a simple IF formula that won't return the correct results because it's pulling from a cell that has a VLOOKUP formula in it. It's not recognizing it as a number.

Hello, I am trying to create a csv generator which will look up all the information from background speadsheets and bring it up in the necessary fields. I am not sure why but when I change the column index number (where the pricing info is), it does not want to work, can anyone help please? My formula is below: To look up Description =IF(LEN(E16)<1,IF(LEN(G16)<1,"",VLOOKUP(G16,MATCODE1,2,FALSE)),"") To look up Price =IF(LEN(G16)<1,IF(LEN(J16)<1,"",VLOOKUP(J16,MATCODE1,5,FALSE)),"")
