i need t know how to do a vlookup using a drop down list as value

I have to use VLOOKUP for my assignment in class, and she gave me no explanation on how to do it (online class) and the book doesn't explain it. I don't know how it works or what to do... Need to use a vlookup for a column but not sure how to do it.

Hi I have an assignment which requires knowledge of data analysis using stat tools, what if and vlookup. I have no idea how to do that. I have a spreadsheet that requires me to analyse using those tools.

I have an excel test on Friday and want to check on how to do a vlookup and what is the formula since I am not well versed with it.

I assume vlookup is the way to do this, but I cannot quite figure it out. Making a choice in one column, then another choice in another column results in a certain display in another column. I get how to do embedded vlookup to do that, but the problem is that the final result is not a single item. It can be several different things.
