I have 2 workbooks open in Excel. Both contain VBA codes. If I close one, should the "Workbook_Activate" event trigger on the other?

Hi, I am calling an excel sheet from matlab, and while i have the sheet open it is running a macro. This macro then tries to activate other workbooks, but is getting a subscript out of range error because it only knows about this excel sheet. When I open the excel sheet manually and run the macro it works fine. I can't figure out a way to fix this - we basically need to make the excel sheet called from matlab aware of other workbooks.

I have a VBA that includes a running clock. I locked this VBA and have it set up to include my password and so the macro executes when I open the file. The worksheet is titled "PSC Dashboard". The problem is I cannot have any other worksheet/workbook open while it's running. The Macro also runs in the unrelated workbooks/worksheets that are open. I would like to keep PSC Dashboard open while I have other workbooks open. I only want this macro to run while PSC Dashboard is open. Thank you, Eugene

Hi there I've been working with a few Excel workbooks, but Excel suddenly started to tell me that it "Could not save" and "Could not open". I've had to close one workbook without saving. I've still got 2 open, which I need to be able to save. Is there any way round this problem, please, without trying to reboot? Thank you Liz

I have accidentally not saved a file on excel. I have gone to File-Open-Recover unsaved workbooks but there is nothing there. Please can you give me an idea of how to recover my work.
