Problem with VLOOKUP function. Want to categorize multiple cells showing info (made up example data provided only) i.e. "27MAR18 WALMART ref 838" gets label "FOOD" based on word WALMART. "JAN19 SOUTHERN TAXI INC" gets label "TRAVEL" based on word TAXI. "NOVEMBER 18 payment SWT TRAIN Ltd" gets label "TRAVEL" based on work TRAIN. Current formula in the label column is:- =VLOOKUP("*"&B1&"*",G$1:H$5,2,FALSE) But it isn't working. I can get VLOOKUP to work when the string to be searched for is just one word but I have got something wrong when the text string is surrounded by other characters. Suggestions? Thank you. I want the IF function to result in another Function. I am entering the function into cell C31. If cell A31 contains this word (word A), I want it to do the CONCATENATE function to the word in cell B31. If it contains Word B, i want it to do the Subsitute function to the word in cell B31, if it contains Word C, i want it to just return the word in b31 without changing anything.
