I wish to calculate the mean of a dataset of 445 positive numbers, including zero, that excludes the outliers.
The greatest value of Quartile1 is less than the Inter-Quartile Range (IQR) between Q1 and Q3.
When I subtract 1.5 times IQR from Q1, the result is a negative number. There are no outliers in Q1.
When I add 1.5 times the Inter-Quartile Range to Q3, the result identifies 21 outliers.
If I use TRIMMEAN, an equal number of values from the lower and upper range of data points is excluded. But I want the 21 large positive numbers excluded.
How can I do this, please?
