Hello. I adding time on excel in minutes and hours such as "1.52" for 1 hour and 52 minutes. I am then finding the average of hundreds of data points to find the average time in minutes and hours. My average would come to something like "1.62" which is odd because it 62 minutes is over 1 hour. Should the final average number of 1.62 be interpreted as 1 hour and 62% of 60 minutes or 2 hours and 2 minutes?

need a formula to format values to the time format so I can calculate total hours and minutes. the current format is as follows: 45 minutes = .45, 1 hour and 1 minute = 1.01, 12 hours and 50 minutes = 12.5
