I am using a =SUMIF function, where i need the formula to read the text eg. "Expenses". How do I refer to a cell and for it to pick up the text. In this example, if A2="Expenses", I want to use "A2" in the =SUMIF function but it does not work.

SUMIF won't work. I type =SUMIF(D11:D15,">50")

=SUMIF(A1:D4, "*Excellent", E1:E4)? How does this function mean? If one cell contains an Excellent at B2, actually E2 was not added. Why?
