I have an excel table that has 6100 zip codes. I want to use a vlookup function to search for a specific zip code and then deliver a numeric factor result. Zip codes are closer to text than number, but the resulting factor is a number. I can't get the vlookup to work using the proper formatting. Help.

I am using the excel count if function to look up job codes in a particular column and calculate how many employees we have under that job code. If a code is for example D011 it deletes out the 0 to make it D11 for the function, meaning it does not pull the correct job codes. Help
