    Good afternoon. I have loaded my excel files from my old computer into my Apple Mac. Now I cannot open the files whether it is in XLS or XLSX format. The file is asking me access but there is an alert that comes up saying it is read only or encrypted or corrupted on a server that is not responding. Any help will be useful. Thanks. Ranjit

    When I try to open excel files downloaded from the internet, I am first prompted to select the file from my downloads folder and choose "Grant Access". When I do this, I get the following error messages: "Excel cannot access 'CustomerInteractionTracker_Data_1545944607.csv'. The document may be read-only or encrypted." And then: "'CustomerInteractionTracker_Data_1545944607.csv' cannot be accessed. The file may be corrupted, located on a server that is not responding, or read-only."

    Excel files from Shared Drive are all opening as Read-Only. Doesn't happen with any other file type (word, powerpoint, etc). "Read-Only" box is not checked, unchecked all 'Protected View' options in Trust Center, added the Shared Drive to the 'Trusted Locations', made sure files aren't encrypted from server to PC. I am on Version 1808 (16.0.10730.20264) 32-bit. I have read that this issue existed on version 1708 but I am not on that version. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    in my documents I have xlr files and excel files. I can open excel by clicking on the file but xlr files do not respond. How do I convert xlr files into excel files so I can access them as easily
