Assume that you initially only want to see the employee's first name in the "name" cell. What formula will give you this piece of information? Since the formula will not be copied to other cells, do not include any dollar signs.

I have imported a file and need to format a column that is set up including the dollar signs to allow me to total the column. The only way I have found that works is to go through, cell by cell, and remove the dollar sign. Specifically, I am trying to total Column H on the Direct Charges report.
